Hey there! I’m Crystal. Wife to my dream man and mom to 5 children. I was born and raised in a small town outside of Nashville, Tennessee but after graduating nursing school from the University of Tennessee , I quickly discovered Knoxville had my heart and was my forever home. Despite having a four year degree in nursing and practicing pediatrics for 10 years, I found myself pregnant with no clue how to prepare for the birth of my first baby. I found people that had positive birth stories and asked them what they did to prepare. I found that the majority of those people took an extended childbirth education class, hired a birth doula, and found a care provider that was on board with their hopes and desires for birth.

The birth of my first born literally changed my life. Within minutes of his delivery, I thought, “I need to teach women how to do what I just did.” So that’s my first love when it comes to birth: education. Lots of education and practical things to do daily to prepare the body, heart, soul, and mind. Birth, no matter if its a vaginal birth or a c-section, can be a beautiful experience.
